This will not be repeated, as JM2 employs scalable, updatable technologies that did not exist when we started writing JM1. Many customers have already transitioned to JM2 and are benefiting from its improved performance, security, and expanding feature set. We are now inviting all remaining JM1 customers to commence their migration planning within the coming months.

Why JM1 is being retired

Technology and security standards continue to advance rapidly. JM1 relies on legacy infrastructure that no longer meets modern compliance, security, and support requirements. As a result, we cannot guarantee ongoing reliability, security patching, or compatibility. Continuing legacy technology creates increasing operational and security risks for your business, and it is no longer a platform we can responsibly support long-term.

Why move to JM2

Jobman JM2 has been built from the ground up as a modern, cloud-based SaaS platform. It is scalable, mobile responsive, and designed for continuous improvement. Key benefits include:
  • Modern cloud architecture
  • Ongoing security and compliance updates
  • Open API integrations
  • Mobile-friendly access
  • Enhanced automation and communication features
  • Continuous feature enhancements and performance improvements

Cost implications

  • Monthly hosting charges to host your data will be shared among existing users.
  • Migration will no longer be free of charge. This requires time and monitoring, which will be passed onto clients.
  • Any time spent re-establishing fixes will be billed.

Next steps

We now recommend planning your migration. Please email our migration team so that we can send you more information on the next steps to take. We appreciate your continued support and look forward to seeing you in JM2.

FAQ

Q: Will I be able to access JM1 after the migration? A: JM1 will be placed in limp mode once the migration is complete, preventing new data from being entered. This data will be read-only for verification purposes and will no longer be accessible after 30th November 2026. Q: I have Jobman installed on our server in a virtual environment. Can I still use it? A: Technically, you can, but we strongly recommend disconnecting it from the internet, as this platform no longer receives security updates, and your data could be compromised. There will be legal documentation for you to sign, acknowledging your responsibility for this risk.
